Meet Dr. Peter (Piotr) Antosiewicz


Peter (Piotr) Antosiewicz, D.V.M.

     A 1981 graduate of veterinary school in Poland, Peter Antosiewicz, D.V.M.,C.V.A., C.V.H., C.V.T. is a general small animal practitioner.  As director of the Valley Veterinary Hospital since 1989, he brings over 25 years of medical expertise.  After moving to the United States he served as Teacher Assistant and Resident in Equine Research at Cornell University.  Dr. "A" has extensively attended continuing education courses throughout the years offered by the American Animal Hospital Association, A.V.M.A., Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine in Reddick, Florida  and China National Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing, China. 

    Dr. "A" is a Certified Acupuncturist by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (I.V.A.S.)(www.ivas.org). Dr. "A" is a Certified TCVM Practitioner and Herbologist and is also a Certified Tui-Na Practitioner from the Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine.(www.tcvm.com).   Dr. Peter's  case study was recently  published in The Point, the medical journal for I.V.A.S.

       He recently traveled to Beijing, China as part of his Master's program.  He internshiped with International Veterinary Acupuncture Society instructor & author, Steve Marsden, D.V.M.  Dr. "A" completed training in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medical (TCVM) Clinical Approach for Respiratory, Cardiovascular, Gastrointestinal, Liver, Endocrine, Kidney, Geriatric, Urinary, Reproductive, Dermatology, Oncology, and Immune Mediated Diseases; Basic & Advanced Chinese Herbal Medicine; Tui-Na; Food Therapy; and Advanced Pulse & Tongue Diagnosis. 

       Dr. Peter completed his Canine Posture Rehabilitation Seminar in Pennsylvania (www.posturalrehabvets.com) and is persuing his certification in Canine Rehabilitation at the Canine Rehabilitation Institute located in Florida (www.caninerehabilitation.com). 

       Dr. Peter has also completed  continuing education courses at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University for acupuncture, western herbs (basic and advanced), chiropractic manipulation, and orthopedic surgery.

      Dr. Peter completed his ultrasound educational programs at Universal Ultrasound (www.universalultrasound.com).  His courses included basic and advanced abdominal ultrasound, and basic cardiac and advanced echocardiography ultrasound.  Dr. Peter performs all ultrasounds at Valley Veterinary Hospital.  

                 Over the last 10 years Dr. A has dedicated his studies to combining traditional and eastern medicine.  Eastern medicine (alternative medicine) includes Acupuncture, Chinese and Western Herbal Medicine, Tui-na (massage therapy), and Food Therapy.  Dr. A uses both modalities to promote health and well being to all his patients.         

      Dr. Peter is a member of the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association (aahanet.org), American Holistic Veterinary Medical Association (www.ahvma.org), International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, and Chi Institute of Chinese Medicine.
